Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

Well, there outside is frightful, but here inside it's delightful, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...I know I didn't get the words to the song right, but I don't care because right now in Saskatchewan land we are in knee deep of snow!

Before I start my post, I would like to apologize for not blogging lately.  Life has been pretty crazy the last few weeks.  A bout in the hospital with Josh, hockey season in full swing with all three boys, and TWO snow storms in the last two weeks...well...it's been keeping us on our toes.

As I mentioned, Saskatchewan has been hit hard with two snow storms in two weeks.  The first one was on October 27.  That day was such a crazy day because Joshua was just admitted into the hospital.  He was coughing all weekend and he wasn't breathing probably.  A ride with the ambulance, x-rays, and a couple hours later, the doctors were admitting Josh in with pnemonia.  Josh was in the hospital for almost three days and it was crazy.  We live twenty minutes from the city, so my husband would drive back and forth two or three times a day.  I would stay the night with Josh and Wayne would come back in the morning and I would go home for a couple of hours to shower and get things ready for Wayne and the boys.  My mom came and stayed and helped Wayne with the other two boys.  Not only was Wayne driving back and forth to the hospital, but Daniel had hockey practices and games.  Now that Daniel is in Tier II hockey, there are no excuses.  You are there...it is a must!

While Josh was in the hospital, Saskatchewan weather went berserk!  We were hit with a snow storm that lasted two days.  They were advising no travel on the highway, but because Josh was in the hospital, we were taking our chances and doing a lot of highway driving.  Thank God, we have Ford 4x4 Truck.  That thing can drive through anything without problems.

Despite being dumped on with a ton of snow, God smiled down on Saskatchewan and let the warm weather come back.  Most of the snow that we got melted away.  But God didn't smile on us for that long because we were hit again by a snow storm.  This time I took pictures.

These pictures are of our back yard.  Notice the snow on the patio chairs, BBQ, and shed...yeah...that's a lot of snow!

This is our driveway, after I shovelled it for over an hour!  I did a poor job because the snow was so heavy and I couldn't lift it over the huge pile of snow near the driveway.  We have a snowblower, but I don't know how to use it.  Maybe it's time Wayne shows me how to use that thing.  But shovelling is good because I got a good workout in and I flexed my biceps!

And these are pictures two hours after I finished shovelling.  Sigh, why did I bother?  All my hard work is wasted and the snow is falling hard now.  I decided not to do anymore shovelling because I thought what was the point.  I phoned Wayne to tell him about my shovelling experience and he told me not to worry and that he'll do it tomorrow!  Ahhhh, what a good husband!

Despite my dislike for the snow, I have to admit it's putting me in a Christmasey kind of mood!  Look at those trees!  Don't they just scream "Christmas!"  I guess, we'll be bringing out the Chrismas decorations soon!

I have discovered a awesome snack that I would like to share with you!  As you know, I have a horrible eating habit...yes...I love to eat chips.  One of my most favorite pasttimes after the kids are in bed is sitting on the couch with a bag of chips!  I know!  Scandalous!!!  I can't help it...it's one of my bad eating habits that I can't seem to shake.  Anyhoo, I've been on a seach for something chip like that is healthy.  Well, I think I might have found it!  Are you ready???  Here they are!!!

Veggie Crinkle Chips!  Did you catch the "crinkle"?  I love anything crinkle!  These are fantasitic and I love eating them!  I think they're healthy...right?

Well, today's lunch consisted of these delightful morsels!  I made a Black Bean Salad from http://ohsheglows.com/2010/11/06/birthday-bro/

I added cilantro instead of the dried parsley and used red onions.  I love this salad and it's even better the next day!

And here is the Black Bean Salad on top of green leafs with a side of Veggie Chips...

Doesn't that look delicious!  It was amazing!  Love it!

Anyways, that's it for now.  I promise I'll post more in the upcoming days.  See you soon!
