A Dedication to Joshua…

Tomorrow will be Joshua’s birthday.  He will be turning six years old!  I can’t believe how fast time flies!  To think that after Daniel, we weren’t going to have anymore kids.  I think when Daniel was four years old, Wayne and I really started considering having another child.  We thought that Daniel really needed a sibling and it didn’t take long for us to find out we were pregnant with Josh Smile

This post will be about Joshua.  What can I say about him?  Well, he’s extremely cute lol  I’m not just saying that because he is my child, but Wayne and I have had complete strangers come up to us and tell us that they think Joshua is such a cute kid with huge eyes.  When Wayne took Joshua to Daniel’s tournament, Wayne said that he had three people comment on Joshua.  One was from a lady that said to Joshua “Did anyone ever tell you that you have beautiful eyes?”  LOL  Can you believe that!  Then Wayne said that all the hockey moms were just doting on Josh and telling him how incredibly cute he is Smile  I think whenever we go somewhere, we have someone telling us how cute Josh is.

Joshua is also very smart.  Even before school, Joshua knew all the basics like alphabets, numbers, shapes, colors, etc.  His kindergarten teacher told us that she sat and listened to Joshua count from 1 to 120.  lol  Joshua is also a sports junkie like his dad and brother.  Joshua is a big fan of collecting hockey cards and analyzing the stats.  Yes, he is only five years old, but he knows his stats.  I can pick any hockey card from his huge collection and ask him questions and he knows the answer.  Also, he watches sports on TV.  From football to soccer to hockey, Joshua watches it and he knows all the plays, stats, teams, etc.  We were at my dad’s house the other day and my dad was watching football.  Joshua was able to tell him what the score was, who was playing, what quarter, what down, etc.  Joshua was even reading the scores of different teams at the bottom of the TV.  My dad was quite amazed by all of this and laughed with excitement listening to Joshua.

Joshua is also very athletic.  Any sport that Joshua does, he’s good at it…LOL…again I know he’s my child, but it is the truth LOL  On Joshua’s Learn to Play Hockey team, the coaches are just amazed by his abilities and at their very first game, the head coach said to Josh that he is the team’s secret weapon!  LOL

Joshua is definitely unique and he goes by his own tune.  He has his own little irks about him that makes him even more different from his brothers.  He has special nicknames for people…well for me mainly.  He likes to call me “teet” “poochies”  Sometimes, he’ll even combine the two and call me a “poochies teet”.  He is the only one that likes to climb into bed with us at night.  Andrew may be the baby of the family, but you can never get Andrew to sleep in our bed, Andrew loves his bed and isn’t scared of the dark.  Joshua on the other hand is.  He’ll wake up at night to climb into bed with us or he’ll wait until I go to bed so he can sleep with me.

He’s already displayed his displeasure for going to a babysitter.  The only people he likes to babysit him are his grandmas or my brother, Uncle Glen.  Any other person, he begs me not to leave or he wants to come with me.  He’s the only one that gives me a difficult time whenever I have to leave.  He cries and runs to the door to make sure I won’t leave him.   Again Andrew the baby of the family isn’t at all like that.  lol

Since this post is dedicated to Josh, I’m going to post pictures of Joshua throughout the year.  I hope you enjoy them!
